Biography

Dr. Sun’s research is focused on molecular, cellular, and signal transduction underlying the biology of musculoskeletal tissues and its related diseases and cancer, with a special emphasis on cartilage and tendon biology aging, degeneration and tissue repair and regeneration and tumorigenesis. The recent research focuses on identifying novel regulatory mechanisms underlying the diseases and cancers with the potential to be used as targets for developing therapeutics for osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, and skeletal cancers.

 

Research Interest

Molecular and cellular biology underlying the physiology and pathophysiology of musculoskeletal tissue function and diseased conditions, and development of novel and effective preventive and therapeutic strategies for musculoskeletal diseases such as arthritis and tendinopathy, tissue repair and regeneration, and musculoskeletal cancers and metastasis.
