Aims and Scope

The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Design (JMCDD) presents up-to-date coverage of advanced drug systems and their applications in medicine. Moreover, it brings the latest advances in fast-moving areas such as new drug approvals, covering all aspects of theory, research and application of diverse disciplines about Medicinal Chemistry Research and drug discovery and design.

The Editorial Committee actively pursues to be a leading source of essential knowledge through promoting excellence in the study at the molecular level of life processes and the interaction of these with chemical agents. Besides, it promotes findings that are expected to have a major impact on the Chemistry of life. Lastly, it seeks the analysis and the convenient adaptation of that science to the requirements of the drug discovery process.

The journal encourages original research and expert review of information at the forefront of molecular interactions at the interface of Chemistry and Biology. Also, the Editor seeks to publish original information leading to emerging advances and concepts in these fields and studies of the evidence-based therapeutic efficacy of promising drugs. Besides, it provides insight into the new and emerging advances and concepts in these areas, as well as in drug discovery associated technologies.

JMCDD is particularly interested in receiving manuscripts that report original investigations, observations, comparisons among different tools and techniques used for the discovery of new drug targets. Correspondingly, it concentrates on clinical, pharmacological, pharmacokinetic, and toxicological reviews interesting to an international audience.
Similarly, JMCDD pursues accounts of research in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, described as the diagnostic utilization of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunochemistry, biochemical aspects of Molecular Biology, to the investigation of human disease in body fluids and cells.

JMCDD aims at an audience of Chemists, Chemical Engineers, Medical Practitioners, Physicians, Biologists, Lab Technicians, Scientists, and Toxicologists working in Medicinal Chemistry and related fields. Likewise, it may be of interest to Scientists in Drug Design and Discovery, those working on the development of new drugs, committed to the most updated and meaningful Chemical Engineering progress.
Core areas of interest of JMCDD include essential advancements that result in a better understanding of Chemical Biology or Bioorganic/Bioinorganic Chemistry behind biological mechanisms. Also, the journal has interest on the significance derived from the research and application of multiple disciplines to Medicinal Chemistry.

The journal pursues well-defined papers which showcase merit, originality, applicability, technology readiness level, focus and appeal to the readership. Each person working in the drug discovery and development field, Scientists engaged at Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Natural products, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmacognosy are contributors of JMCDD articles.

All manuscripts in JMCDD will be thoroughly peer-reviewed by independent experts following an initial assessment by the Editors to assure their scientific value and significance of its diverse content.

Call for submissions

The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Design (JMCDD) publish articles of original, interdisciplinary, nature. The Editor actively encourages the most diverse aspects and knowledge that contribute to the disciplines that meet in Medicinal Chemistry and Research on Drug Discovery. Similarly, JMCDD is interested in research articles on Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, among other disciplines. Moreover, authors may submit reviews (by invitation from the Editor) and letters to the editor.
