Biography

Throughout my medical career I have been committed to the highest standards of clinical excellence and I am glad to say that the comprehensive training I have had in diabetes, endocrinology and general medicine in the UK from house officer resident level has allowed me to consistently excel in each of my posts. As a competent and assured clinician I feel I possess a plethora of skills and experience to offer any future service. I am currently working as a consultant Endocrinologist / Diabetologist and leading the service for general and complex endocrinology/diabetes.  As a competent and assured clinician I feel I possess a plethora of skills and experience to offer to any future service.

Teaching is an area that makes me tick and I have extensive teaching background throughout my career. I have achieved a teaching degree with the University of Bristol. Furthermore, bearing in mind Bristol’s large Muslim community, and having encountered patients who had become sick during fasting, I independently set up community teaching sessions on Bristol Radio about the management of diabetes during the month of Ramadan.

I understand the importance of clinical governance in ensuring the highest quality of care for patients. I possess extensive audit experience, as well as having led the preparation of guidelines, protocols and patient information leaflets. I believe in on going professional development and have participated and presented in National and International meetings and have several publications in peer reviewed journals. Consequently, I am keen to apply this committed approach to my new workplace and ensure the best possible service available to patients.
