Biography

Silvia Deaglio obtained a MedicalDegree from the University of Turin in 1998, thentrainedas a MedicalOncologist (boardcertification in 2002) and obtained a PhD in Genetics (February 2006). Since 2005 sheworksindependently first as Assistant, thenas Associate Professor of Medical Genetics. In 2004-2005 shewasInstructor in Medicine and thenVisiting Assistant Professor at the BethIsraelDeaconessMedical Center of Harvard University, working on the characterization of the suppressivemechanisms of regulatory T cells. Since 2010 shecoordinates the Immunogeneticsresearch line of the Human Genetics Foundation (HuGeF). Sheiscurrentlyvisiting Associate Professor atWeillCornellMedical College in New York.

Herresearchinterests are in the molecularcharacterization of tumor-hostinteractions, particularly in chroniclymphoproliferativesyndromes and in melanoma.Herfield of expertise are extracellularnucleotides and nucleosides and their impact on tumorcellsurvival, proliferation and metabolism.
