Biography

Dr. Karsli is a paediatric anaesthesiologist at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He has recently returned from a three month mini-fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, one of the largest paediatric transplant centres in North America. Dr. Karsli is the anaesthesia representative on the Trauma Committee and is an active member of the Pain Service. To date, he has one peer-reviewed publication and has peer-reviewed two studies in 1999. Dr. Karsli has recently co-authored a chapter in a major paediatric anaesthesia textbook to be published April 2000. Dr. Karsli is active in anaesthesia resident education, both at The Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto, having won The Hospital for Sick Children Anaesthesia Resident Teaching Awards in 1998 and 1999. Dr. Karsli is the director of anaesthesia for Image Guided Therapy. Image Guided Therapy (IGT) is a major departure from conventional paediatric patient care. Dr. Karsli's adaptable style and expertise will be an essential ingredient for this IGT initiative as each day will bring forth new and unique cases and clinical situations.
