Current Active Pursuits
- Leading the Department and helping it and The School of Dentistry become and remain the pre-eminent Dental School in North America.
- Introducing, teaching faculty, and utilizing interactive teaching methodologies and technologies to the Dental School.
- Indroducing and utilizing Internet-based testing, evaluation technologies and methods into the Dental School that facilitate case-based decision making and provide immediate feedback on performance and thinking.
- Helping guide dental students such that they will be trained in decision-making and methods of routine and advanced “state-of-the-art” contemporary periodontal care when they graduate and return to their often distant, isolated (and poor) communities, substantially reducing the need for specialist referral.
- Role modeling Department and Dental School-wide ethical, compassionate and humane decision-making and patient care.
- Developing Medical Center-wide research into Health Care Education, with an emphasis on Inter-Disciplinary Education.
- Developing and testing multilogic critical thinking in medical and dental education utilizing embedded multi-media in question stem and response options.
