Biography

Dr. Imran Iftikhar is an Associate Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical care and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Iftikhar earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Health Sciences, Pakistan in 2004. After 3 years of training in Internal Medicine at Fairview Hospital/Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, he completed 2 years of training in Pulmonary Medicine at the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine in 2010. He then, completed a year of training in Sleep Medicine at the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. After his fellowship in Sleep Medicine, he joined the faculty of University of South Carolina, School of Medicine in July 2011.

Dr. Iftikhar has published in several peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, Journal of Sleep & Breathing, Annals of American Thoracic Society, Journal of Lung, Journal of Chronic Respiratory Diseases, International Journal of COPD, and others. He serves on the editorial board for several journals and as ad-hoc reviewer for several others including the Journal of American Medical Association and Annals of American Thoracic Society.
