Biography

Dr Alfred Lau is anhonorary clinicalassociate professor at the University of Hong Kong and Honorary consultant in Queen Mary Hospital for both undergraduates and postgraduates teaching. He is also currently a director in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Dental Implant and Maxillofacial Centre and Honorary consultant at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital.

Dr Lau is the founder and current President of Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Group of Hong Kong and he is actively working in promoting OMS around the region. Currently, he also holds the position ofthe Vice President of the Hong Kong Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Vice President of Hong Kong Society of Sedation and Anesthesia in Dentistry, committee member of Young Dentist Group of HKDA and Councilor of both the Asian and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Lau’s special interests are in implant dentistry especially immediate implant in the esthetic zone, orthognathic surgeries and cleft lip and palate surgeries. He has been invited to participate in various surgeries around the region and active in participating in voluntary services especially cleft lip and palate surgeries. He frequently speaks in conferences and courses both locally and internationally.
