Biography

Fengyu Song has received her D.D.S. and M.S. in Prosthodontics from Western China University of Medical Science in China in 1998 with the completion of an in vivo thesis study focused on the subgingival bacterial flora changes during crown preparation. Dr. Song received her Ph.D. degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2006 with the research dissertation to explore further on enzyme-mediated tissue destruction under pathological conditions such as degenerative temporomandibular disorders. Her postdoctoral training was done at the Center for Regenerative Biology and Medicine in the School of Science at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) in USA on the topic of “Distal Boundary Formation in Regenerating Amphibian Limbs”. She has published more than 20 manuscripts in reputed peer-reviewed journals, chaired international conferences, and served as a panelist for United States National Science Foundation panel review, as a reviewer for seven reputable journals and as a scientific board member of Journal of Endodontics, the official journal for the American Association of Endodontics.
