Biography

Mohammed Hossein Shamssain is an Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Ajman University (AU). He got his M.Sc and Ph.D Degrees from Loughborough University , United Kingdom. He got his Certificate for Higher Education (Cert Ed) from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom. He has also attending many workshops, seminars and  Continuing Medical Education courses in respiratory pathophysiology, pharmacotherapy and management of asthma and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) in Europe, USA, and UAE, and has obtained relevant certificates including CME for these activities.

Academically, he has been teaching pharmacology and toxicology courses at undergraduate and pharmacovigilance, drug abuse, research methodology and biostatistics at postgraduate levels at COPHS. He has been actively involved in organizing three international conferences on Asthma and COPD at COPHS, supervising research projects both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (almost 40 theses; M.Sc Clinical Pharmacy). He has also participated in curriculum development and in the accreditation programs for undergraduate and postgraduate levels at COPHS.

Before joining AU, Dr Mohammed Shamssain has worked in many universities world-wide. For example, he has established the ISAAC Centre for the North East of England (the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood) in 1996 when he was a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom. He has supervised many graduation, M.Sc, M.Phil and Ph.D research projects.
