Profile

Dr. Mayur Patel, Associate Professor in Department of Pharmaceutics, has 9 years of teaching experience. He has completed M.Pharm. and Ph. D. from Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University. He has twenty one International and National Publications to his credit with total impact factor of more than 49, total citations more than 500 and ‘h’ index of 12. He is a recipient of minor research project of worth Rs. 4.0 Lacs from Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST). He is reviewer for many high impact factors journals of publishers like Elsevier, Informa Healthcare Ltd., American Chemical Society (ACS), SAGE, Bentham Science, etc. to name a few. He has attended many International and National level conferences and participated in State level Paper Presentation competition. He has been an author and co-author of more than 60 papers (both research and review) presented at state, national and international level seminars and conferences. He got first prize in the National level poster presentation competition. He also got first prize in NIRMAQUEST 2005 (A State level Quiz and Elocution Competition for Pharmacy students). He has been invited to deliver lecture as a Resource Person at AICTE sponsored Two weeks Staff Development Programme. He is a life member of Professional bodies like APTI, IPA, IHPA, SOPI, ISTE and IPGA. He has authored books on “Practicals in Pharmaceutical Analysis – I” and “A Text-book of Hospital Pharmacy”. He has also written a book chapter on “Drug Delivery: Oral Colon-Specific” in Encyclopedia of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, 4th Edition, 2013, Published by Informa Healthcare Inc. UK. He is a recognized PG and Ph.D. guide at Nirma University. His area of interest is Novel Drug Delivery Systems.

 

Research Interest

Formulation Development and Optimization; Novel Drug Delivery Systems with special emphasis on development of Multi-particulate Drug Delivery Systems like Pellets and Micro-/Nano Particulate Systems; & Development of Colloidal Drug Delivery Systems (including Lipidic Drug Delivery Systems) for treatment of Tuberculosis and various types of Cancers.
