Biography

Dr. Weaver is Vice President of Certifying Board Services for the American Osteopathic Association in Chicago, Illinois, USA, where he is responsible for the ongoing operations of the board certification process for the profession of osteopathic medicine.  He previously served for 6 years as the founding chief executive officer of the American Board of Optometry and 12 years as clinical care director of the American Optometric Association. He is part of a four-doctor group practice in Creve Coeur, Missouri, USA.  He teaches Environmental Vision as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry, and precepts in its Primary Care Clinic.

Weaver is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a Diplomate in Public Health and Environmental Vision.  He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Optometry and Optics.  He is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry; Board Certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE); and a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Recently, he has become more active in humanitarian missions, bringingmuch-needed eye care services to underserved residents ofPeru and El Salvador with Hazelwood Baptist Church and Tom Cox World Ministries.
