Biography

Oral B. Ospanov obtained his BM Medicine degree from Medical Faculty of Omsk State Medical Academe, Russia in 1988.
He was awarded with Candidate’s degree in Medical Sciences (Ph.D) (1995) and Doctor in Medical Sciences (2003) from Omsk State Medical Academe. Next he was awarded with Academic title of Full Professor of Medicine (2008).
He was promoted and worked in different positions Chief scientific worker of the Department of the Surgery of National Research (Scientific) Medical Center of Kazakhstan, Astana, Kazakhstan.
Prof. O.Ospanov: Founder and Honored President of Association of Endoscopic Surgery of Kazakhstan (AESK);  “Best teacher of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan;"Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan" awarded by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2013).
Finally he became President of Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons of Kazakhstan (SBMSK).Since 2015SBMSK – MemberofIFSO-EC.
Prof. O.Ospanov- a member of the international advisory group IFSO- EC.

The scientific studiesof Prof. Oral Ospanov include the development of new surgical procedures and technical devices for generaland bariatric surgery. The last 5 yearsof thestudy focusedon bariatric andmetabolic surgery. His research interests focus on the study of the efficiency of the developed innovations and surgical bariatric procedures.
