Biography

I am specialist in Agri-Food fields, BSc in (Food & Dairy Sciences), MSc in (Food Science &
Technology) and PhD in "Biotechnology, Microbiology", University Montpellier 2 “Sciences and
Technology of Languedoc”, France, 2010. My degrees equivalent to their counterparts in Canada.
All degrees equivalent to their counterparts in Canada.
I created innovative techniques used for implementing new traceability system by giving unique
genetic fingerprint and opened up new avenues to understand: fungi producing mycotoxins and
dynamics of microbial populations during product processing.
15 years’ experience in tertiary education and 9 years’ experience as researcher and manager in
several European projects (EDES, FSP 2006-43, Innovkar, Trace, HEEPF).
2 post-docs; first at Center for International cooperation in Agronomic Research for
Development, France; second at Halal Products Research Institute, Malaysia.
I was responsible for coordinating the writing of training manuals on traceability of animals and
its products. Leadership in develop new tool to determine the origin of plants and its products.
Creating new tracing tool of insect pests.
Worked as assistant 2000-2004, assistant lecturer 2004-2012 and lecturer in 2012, Minufiya
University, Egypt. Recently, I worked as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science, Al-Baha
University, Saudi Arabia 2013-2015.
Awarded many international prizes; three of them as the first prize. Granted the trophy of the
Agriculture Faculty, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia.
Published more than 60 publications (books, chapters, articles) in International Reviews.
Presented papers in over 12 international conferences.
Member of Executive Committee of Asia Pacific Institute of Food Professionals, member of
International Advisory Committee of Asian Food Safety & Security Association, Food Biology
Research Foundation, member in Global Food Safety Community (Collab4Safety EU Project),
