Biography

Dr Marie Bassford is Associate Professor of Physics within the Faculty of Technology, De Montfort University, England. She earned an MPhys and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Leicester, England.

Marie has been the program leader for the Physics BSc and MPhys program at De Montfort University since 2013. She teaches on a number of modules including Fundamental Physics, Optics, Education for Mathematics/Physics and Forensic Investigation.

Marie is an active STEM Ambassador and treasurer of the British Science Association (Leicester Branch).


Research Interest

Her research interests include optics, imaging techniques/technology, and STEM-related pedagogy, most recently including the assessment and delivery of Forensic Science within Higher Education.
