Biography

Dr Marwa Mohamed Fawzi Said Ahmed is Associate Professor and Coordinator of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology course, Medical Professionalism, Medical ethics and law courses Faculty of Medicine Taibah University, Medina, KSA since 2011.

She has received her M.D. degree in Forensic Medicine from Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine, Cairo. Egypt 2006 .She had joined the academic line as a demonstrator in 1998 up to 2011 as an Assistant Professor in the department of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology, ASU, Egypt.

She contributed in management of toxicological emergencies cases in Poison Control Center Ain Shams University Hospitals PCCASU 2000-2011. She is also specialized in Health Care Quality Management, patientsafety MOH. She participated in WHO projects, conferences, workshops and committees. She has national and international publications in the field of medical ethics, forensic, clinical toxicology and communications skills. She supervised many theses M.D and Masters in Forensic Medicine and toxicology. She had coauthored multiple undergraduate Forensic medicine books .She is member of national and international Forensic societies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Fully responsible for organization of work tasks in the Emergency Room (ER)
  • Responsible for the training programs of newly employed doctors.
  • Managing different cases coming to the Emergency Unit (ER)
  • Managing cases of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where the following essential skills are needed as basic requirements:

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Endotracheal intubation
Central venous line

Diagnosing and treating cases of acute and chronic intoxications including:

  • Industrial & household poisoning
  • Drug toxicity
  • Drugs of abuse
  • Environmental toxins
  • Animal & plant toxicity
  • Food poisoning
  • Others

PCC also includes an information center that supplies doctors and other citizens all over the country with the needed data and information for diagnosis and management of different cases of poisoning.
