Biography

Dr. Hassan is currently Professor and Senior Clinical Consultant of Restorative Dentistry, Clinical Dental Sciences Department, College of Dentistry, Princess Nora University, Riyadh; Saudi Arabia. He is a former Vice-dean for Postgraduate Studies and research, and a former Chairman of the Restorative Dentistry Department, both at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mansoura University in Egypt. He is also a former Head of the Division of Operative Dentistry, College of Dentistry, King Saud University, Riyadh; Saudi Arabia. He worked as a Professor at King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, and Mansoura University in Egypt. He also worked as a Senior Research Fellow & Associate at the School of Dentistry, Marquette University; USA. As a Visiting Professor, He joined the Dental School, University of Adelaide; Australia, and the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto; Canada.

Dr. Hassan serves as an Editorial Board member for several national and international Journals; including the Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice, Journal of Dentistry and Dental Medicine, Journal of Clinical Research in Dentistry, and Journal of Dental Problems and Solutions.

He received a BDS., MSD, and PhD from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Alexandria, Egypt. He also received a Certificate of Advanced Training in Operative Dentistry and Dental Materials from the School of Dentistry, Marquette University; USA.

Dr. Hassan has several publications in national and international Journals, and has made several presentations before major dental groups nationally and abroad.

Dr. Hassan’s research Interests include bond strength of composite resins, microleakage and repair; placement techniques for composite resins, and polymerization shrinkage and curing lights; as well as adhesive resins; and bleaching of discolored teeth.

The value of this award was approximately US $375.00.
  • Recipient of a 13-month Postdoctoral Fellowship granted by Egypt/USA - January, 1984. This Fellowship was offered annually to junior faculty on a National competition basis. Total value of this Fellowship was US $22,500.00.
  • Recipient of the 1st Place Research Award granted by the Committee of Spring Table Clinics and Poster Presentations, School of Dentistry, Marquette University, USA - July, 1983. This award was offered annually on a competition basis. The value of this award was approximately US $500.00.
